WAUNAKEE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The position of Police School Liaison Officer (PSLO) was originally introduced to the Waunakee Police Department and Waunakee School District in February 1996. After a 1 year evaluation, it became a permanent position.
The ultimate goal of the PSLO program is to establish a rapport with the youth of Waunakee, working in the school as a proactive measure. PSLO's give presentations to classes and groups, have frequent contact with parents, and other agencies relating to children. They also work during select sporting events, dances, and at other school related functions. During the summer and non school days, the PSLO's work as uniformed patrol officers.
